Microsoft Loop Now Supports Sharing with External Users

Microsoft has rolled out an update to its Loop platform, adding the ability to share workspaces, pages, and components with guests outside the organization. This addition is designed to enable broader collaboration with external contacts. Guest Sharing Capabilities Users in organizations without sensitivity labels can now share Loop content with external email addresses, as long as these actions align with administrator policies. The company plans to expand this feature later in the year to include organizations using sensitivity labels, aligning with Loop’s broader availability for such features. To share a Loop page, users need to go to the desired page, hit the Share button, choose the Page option, and then adjust the link settings to include the external email. This process involves selecting “People you choose” for the link settings, adding the external email, and clicking Apply. The generated link can be shared through supported applications like Teams and Outlook. Steps for Sharing Workspaces When sharing a workspace, users should open the workspace, click on the Share button, select the Workspace option, and input the guest’s email address before sending the invitation. Guests will receive an email link to access the workspace. Note that guests need access to a shared Loop page first, and it might take one to two hours after sharing a page before the same guest can access the workspace. This new feature is gradually being rolled out to Microsoft 365 Enterprise, EDU, and SMB license holders. This update is aimed at enhancing the collaborative capabilities of Microsoft Loop, especially for work involving external partners and clients. The addition of guest sharing in Microsoft Loop is likely to streamline workflows and boost productivity by facilitating easier interaction with external users. Microsoft continues to enhance its suite of collaboration tools to cater to the demands of contemporary workplaces. Microsoft Loop Copilot Integration This week, Microsoft integrated its copilot AI platform into Loop. Copilot leverages the power of large language models (LLMs) to analyze data from the Microsoft Graph, encompassing emails, calendars, chats, and documents. This translates to intelligent and context-aware assistance for users working within Loop. The integration empowers users in three key ways. Firstly, Copilot streamlines brainstorming sessions by generating new Loop pages in a matter of seconds. Secondly, it breathes life into pre-built templates, allowing users to seamlessly adapt them to their specific needs. Finally, Copilot facilitates intuitive editing of existing Loop pages, ensuring content remains sharp and focused.
